Biobanking : Enabling research by improving access to samples
Date: | 11-Jul-12 to 12-Jul-12 |
Location: | Copthorne Tara Hotel / London / United Kingdom |
Category: | Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals Conferences & Trade Fairs |
SMi’s 2nd annual Biobanking event will reflect the significant change driving current development in bio sample management. With great impetus being put on data sharing, interoperability and harmonisation of biobanks, it will explain how single centre research facilities are evolving into research infrastructures. There will also be efforts to associate value to existing biological resources and coverage of important issues experienced by those who donate, manage and expend biobank samples.
Why attend this event?
• Explore challenges facing new biobanks, strategies for cost recovery and sustainability
• Discover sample requirements of researchers in drug discovery
• Communicate with solution providers who provide technological innovations for managing biobanks
• Examine quality control and quality assurance practices
• Determine how to improve your infrastructure and better network with the biobanking community
• Discuss obstacles to people donating tissue for biomedical research
