That may be fine if we are loading the dishwasher and talking to our mother in law at the same time, but not fine when we are learning a new work process or using a power saw and watching Netflix simultaneously. There are times when it is critical to listen and ways to listen that are critical to our success at work.
Why should you attend: Listening is an activity we learned to do as babies. We listened for a parent's footsteps and voice. Then we listened to our teachers and coaches. Now we listen on the phone while we type on our computers (some do this in secret, while doctors now do it in the open). We go to a meeting and read emails and text at the same time. Attend this seminar to find out what this multi-tasking does to our brains, what we’re missing by multi-tasking, and when it is most important to listen deeply (even if others don't).
Areas Covered in the Session:
What we know from neuroscience about multi-tasking
What our devices are doing to the way we live, and doing to us
How often do we have real conversations?

Listening to learn-when to do this at work
Listening to resolve issues-make sure you’ve listened to learn first
