The role of education has changed dramatically over the past decades. No longer is it adequate for education to merely prepare youth to enter the work force; education must also empower young people to create and innovate, to become leaders, and to live lives of value. Through the "Educating for Sustainable Happiness" symposium, Cushing Academy and The Bhutan Canada Foundation encourage educators to explore the question, “What does education in the 21st century look like?” In particular, what are the ideas, best practices, and pedagogy that will most effectively lead to the development of sustainable happiness amongst students?
