We organize an exclusive two day event annually – “The Asia Energy Security Summit” at any one of the Asian countries. This is a Track II diplomacy Initiative, where Government and Industry Leaders, Regulators, Policymakers, Academicians and think tanks from across Asia discuss and debate issues relating to the entire energy spectrum, particularly the emerging issues and challenges in the Energy landscape of Asia. The proceedings from the previous conclave are carried forward for review and discussion. The first two conclaves were held at Colombo, Sri Lanka in 2011 and 2012 respectively.

The “3rd Asia Energy Security Summit 2013” is being hosted in Bangkok, Thailand on 28 February & 01 March, 2013. The theme of this summit is: Fostering Energy Security Partnership and Co-operation in Asia. The Summit looks at some key issues such as the massive discovery of Shale Gas reserves and Tight Oil in the US and it’s far reaching consequences, which would be nothing short of rebalancing of the world oil supply. IPPAI is a not-for-profit association that was set up in 1994, shortly after the Government of India opened power generation to private players. It was set up initially with the idea of providing a neutral forum to facilitate private sector investments in the Indian Power Sector through the IPP model. The forum enabled discussion and debate on various issues and bottlenecks faced by the private investors as the power industry moved from command to market economy. It presently functions as an independent body that provides a neutral platform for the discussion and examination of issues critical to the sustainable development of the private power sector in India.
