A knowledge of the urban territory implies an awareness of and interaction with the reality surrounding us of which we are an integral part, it means understanding and managing the flow of materials and resources needed by the urban metabolism in terms of requirements and supply of raw materials, responsible and eco-balanced production, sustainable waste management, minimization of uncontrolled and widespread dispersion of potentially polluting substances, and the recovery of resources from residues (urban mining), a virtous means of closing the material cycle.
The Symposium will last three days and will include oral sessions, a poster session and a technical tour at a real scale plant dealing with post-consumer plastic packaging.
