Bucharest Conference in Applied Ethics 2014 5th Edition “Ethical Challenges in the New Business Environment”

The current economic and social crisis is generally considered a solid proof that ethics is rather optional for businessmen and companies than a normal way of doing business. The scandals that affected the banking sector since 2000, for example, have been taken as illustrating the loose moral standards in the business environment in general and many have accused a complicity between the business and public sectors. Others blamed a so-called “savage Capitalism” for providing the setting for unethical behaviour. The 5th edition of the Bucharest Conference in Applied Ethics will bring together both academics and professionals from various disciplines and industries in order to explore the trends and propose new ways to think about the ethical limits of business.
