Stage 1 is a beginners course and no prior knowledge of the language is required.
Our courses are run for 10 weeks in small groups in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.
Tutors are approachable, friendly and highly experienced.
All delegates will receive a certificate at the end of the course and will be given the option to progress onto the next level.
Example course content (please note this may change):
Week 1 – Introductions, asking and answering basic questions, ordering a drink in a bar.
Week 2 – Rooms in the house, nationalities & numbers.
Week 3 – Quantities, shopping & how nouns change in the plural
Week 4 – Numbers, quantities, how nouns change in the plural, using the verbs ‘comprare’ (to buy), ‘preferire’ (to prefer) & ‘sentire’ (to listen).
Week 5 – Colours, fruit and vegetables, aches and pains, how to say ‘some’: del, dello, della, & ‘I have’ (io ho)
Week 6 – Family, telephone, being formal or informal with different people, how to say ‘my’ (mio/mia), ‘your’ (tuo/tua), ‘his/her’ (suo/sua) & the verb ‘conosco’ (to know somebody)
Week 7 – Food & drink – ordering at a restaurant
Week 8 – Transport & directions How to use posso: (I can), conosco/so (I know) & verbs like lavarsi (to wash yourself)
Week 9 – Hotel facilities / accommodation; hotel requests and complaints & describing where something is.
Week 10 – General revision of previous lessons: useful phrases & professions; how to use partire (to leave) & arrivare (to arrive).
