Calling all UK Food & Drink companies. Opportunity in the CEE – SLOVAKIA

From the 26th to the 27th of August 2015, Bratislava, Slovakia will be home to “Local Taste around the Globe”, which is a large food and drink event.

Over 2,000 visitors will be attending the event this year. It is a very exciting opportunity to visit the fair whilst we organise 1-2-1 meetings for your company.

Food & Drink sector in Slovakia:
Food & Drink sector is very important part of the economy of Slovakia. Nevertheless, it suffers from a low rate of self-sufficiency, which is only around 50%. This means that Slovakia imports a large amount of food and drink products.
The Slovak consumer is willing to pay a higher price for better quality and the price sensitivity for innovative, unique products in the gastro sector is also generally lower. A typical Slovak consumer is not significantly inclined to buy Slovak products, in contrast with countries such as France or Germany.
At the moment, there is a cider boom with two British cider brands being popularised all over the country, which proves that British food & drink products have their place on Slovak market.
