The Creative Radio School, organised by Parkside Mediahouse and Birmingham City University, is ideal for you if you are a new graduate or currently working at a community radio hoping to break into the industry full time.

The two day school offers an insight into current industry thinking. We’ll give you vital skills for both on air and off air. Everything from understanding your audience, improving preparation, to nailing that perfect link.

If you are currently sending out a demo tape and it’s not getting the response you had hoped for, we’ll help you make a new one!

The skills over the two days will see an instant improvement to how you present your programme. By the end of the two days, we’ll give you a standout three minute demo to send to industry. You’ll also have access to two professionals with over 25 years of experience in radio.
Presenter Andy Martindale and Producer Tom Reeves have a wealth of knowledge that you will find vital to improve your skills in radio. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to talk to them, ask questions and obtain feedback throughout the two days.
The Radio School is not just for presenters. Producers will find this valuable too. You’ll learn about creative content, planning, script writing and getting the best out of social media.
We’re limiting capacity to this school to 20 people. We’ve got room for loads more, but we want you to have as much one-to-one feedback as possible.
