Scholarship Sharing will be hosting our Third Annual Scholarship Fair for students. We will be hosting the event this year at the Tidewater Community College Student Center in Chesapeake VA on September 26 & 27. This event will highlight scholarships from over 60 nonprofits and 12 Virginia Universities. Students will walk from table to table to network for scholarship opportunities from exhibitors.
We will also have powerpoint presentations on scholarship aid resources in English and Spanish. I will be presenting on techniques I used to find scholarship aid resources and managed to graduate debt free from Virginia Commonwealth University-twice!
There will be a raffle for a $500 scholarship during the event to families who make donations to our Scholarship Fund.
This event will be very beneficial to military families because we have created a section of the event just for active duty and retired veterans, their spouses and children. Organizations such as the Veterans Foreign Wars, AMVETs, Navy Wives Club, and Anchor Scholarship Foundation among several others will be in attendance.
This event is for High School students in thier freshman-senior years, but also for currently enrolled undergraduate students. The event has something for everyone, and is also a great resource for nontraditional students such as GED recipients, and for parents who want to return to college. Any student, parent, or teacher throughout Virginia and Washington DC can attend.
Admission to the Scholarship Fair is free.
