Macro Photography Workshop (1 day)


nder the guidance of our experienced tutors you will be given the opportunity to seek out beauty in extraordinary places. You will learn to capture sharp, creative, close up images. The subjects will also be varied and you will be amazed at your discoveries. Your eyes will be opened when you delve into the fascinating world of Macro Photography.

The Macro Photography Workshop will be split between theoretical and practical sessions. You will be encouraged to learn as you shoot. There will also be ample opportunity to review your work and watch our professional tutors in action.

Course topics:

Short introduction to macro photography.
Macro photography explained in depth and the differences between macro photography and close-up photography.
Magnification: ratios and life size explained in depth.
Macro Equipment: lenses and accessories explained in depth.
Macro lighting techniques: a wide range of macro photography lighting techniques explained in depth, natural light, artificial light, flashguns and speedlites will be presented too.
Macro lighting accessories: a broad range of macro photography lighting accessories and tools including reflectors, shapers, bouncers, diffusers, etc.
Camera settings: we will explore all settings required for macro photography (particularly manual and semi-manual modes) including the light meter and the metering modes.
Composition: composition elements in macro photography, how to achieve effective framing and highlight the subject.
Advice on equipment purchase, budget, needs versus quality.
What you will need:

All you need is a basic knowledge of camera lenses, aperture, shutter speed and ISO including exposure modes.
