Food Photography Workshop (1 day)


The workshop contains all the essential elements to achieve a great food image. We don’t concentrate on jargon or chat! This is a hands-on Food Photography Workshop. Food and equipment will be available in the studio for your use. We will put into practice all the essentials of food photography. You will walk away with the ability to compose beautiful, vibrant images that make your work extraordinary.

Food Photography Workshop topics:

- Short introduction to food photography.
- Key characteristics of food and the best approach of different types of textures in food photography.
- Light – we will be talking in depth about the role of light in food photography and different lighting styles.
- Lighting equipment – we will be approaching lighting equipment in depth: natural and artificial light, flashguns / speedlites, continuous and fast lighting.
Technical aspects: camera settings will be discussed in depth (particularly manual and semi-manual modes) including the light meter and the metering mode.
- Lenses: focal length, lenses classification and what types of lenses are best for food photography.
- Backdrops and backgrounds: backgrounds approached in depth, types of backgrounds, textures and what types of backgrounds are the best for food photography.
- Props and accessories: we will be discussing various props and accessories which will help you to enhance your food images.

What you will need:

All you need is a basic knowledge of camera lenses, aperture, shutter speed and ISO including exposure modes.
