Representatives from Washington, D.C.-based firm OFW Law, will provide all in attendance with time-sensitive information and the knowledge needed to learn how important changes in food labeling could affect your products. This event will keep attendees aware of the latest developments impacting the labeling of food products as well as provide an overview of the basics of food labeling. The seminar will be divided into four sessions led by Robert A. Hahn, Esq (Principal, Olsson Frank and Weeda).

Session 1: The basics of food labeling including mandatory label information, exemptions, allergen labeling, country of origin marking and flavor labeling

Session 2: A review of label claims like nutrient content claims, health claims, qualified health claims, structure/function claims, “gluten free” claims, and other regulated claims (e.g., “fresh,” “natural,” “organic,” “made in USA,” green claims)

Session 3: Class action lawsuits and other threats

Session 4: The future of food labeling, such as Nutrition Facts reform, menu/vending machine nutrition labeling, front of package nutrition labeling and other FDA initiatives.
