Sourdough Breadmaking Course

Date: 23-Jan-16 to 23-Jan-16
Location: Eastcourt Manor - Bread & Baking Courses / United Kingdom
Category: Education Culture, Society & Lifestyle

Learn to bake bread and sourdough at Eastcourt Manor.
We will guide you through techniques and recipes to bake sourdough and other bread types by hand. Sourdough is a fantastic approach to baking bread — easy to fit around a busy lifestyle, very cost effective and incredibly tasty. Learning to bake by hand is easy, needs very little equipment and you will never need to buy factory-made bread again!
This course covers the full range of techniques to make your own sourdough breads including caring for your sourdough starter, kneading techniques, shaping loaves and tips to bake the perfect loaf. Participants bake pizzas for lunch and a sweet loaf for afternoon tea.

All courses include:

- A full-day breadmaking course in a domestic kitchen with a maximum of six participants

- 12 months' membership of the Real Bread Campaign, part of the Sustain charity, which promotes proper bread, provides advice to bakers at all levels and supports community and artisan bakers all over the UK (worth £25)

- A bundle of essential breadmaking equipment including banneton, mixing bowl, dough scraper and grignette (dough slasher) worth £25

- 12 months' breadmaking "technical support". You can call or email us at any time (within reason!) and we'll help you straight away.

You'll also take home all the bread that you've baked on the day. For more information, visit www.eastcourtmanor.co.uk
