Phoenix/Mesa, AZ – The American Night Writers Association is hosting its 21st annual, national writers conference, “Time Out for Writers,” at the Phoenix East/Mesa Hilton Hotel on February 21-23, 2013. Registration is now open to all public: teachers, authors, and writers, whether novice or published!

• Lara Perkins of Andrea Brown Literary Agency: young adult fiction, middle grade fiction, picture books, and literary fiction.
• Chris Schoebinger of Shadow Mountain: general fiction, children’s fantasy/sci fi, YA novels, romance, mystery, seasonal picture books, non-fiction, LDS historical novels.

 Protagonist Ball – Come dressed as your favorite protagonist to mingle, network and have fun with faculty and other attendees. JAMES OWEN, our conference keynote speaker, writes wearing Superman garb and encourages writers to, "dress like a protagonist." The Protagonist Ball is being held in his honor and everyone is encouraged to come dressed as the protagonist who inspires them!

 All-star Breakfast – The first twenty-five attendees to register for the full conference, and hotel room, receive the opportunity to win a seat at our “ALL-STAR BREAKFAST.” This will give attendees a chance to meet and get to know our faculty in a more intimate setting, including our wonderful agents and editors.
 Bookstore – Sell your books and/or purchase others’ at our onsite bookstore. All conference faculty, volunteers, ANWA authors, and registered conference attendees will be able to sell their books, CD’s or DVD’s that they have authored. Buying is open to the public!
